When the Church first took off after Pentecost, they met together in small groups in homes. We think this is rather a good idea. So like many churches, we meet together in the middle of the week in a smaller group setting. We meet as a student group at 7.15pm at the LifePoint Centre on Wednesday evenings to spend time together praising God, encouraging each other, praying with one another. We’ve found it absolutely vital to meet together like this if we want to get the most out of our walk with Christ.
Jesus was a big fan of eating with people. Just take a look at Luke’s gospel: He’s always either at a meal, going to a meal, or coming from a meal. Here at LifePoint Church, we’re pretty big fans of His outlook… Almost every Sunday, families in the church put on a free lunch for students in their own homes. So if you’re a bit of a kitchen calamity, we’ve got you covered for at least one proper meal a week! If you have any dietary requirements, just let us know in advance, and we’ll make sure there’s something suitable for your consumption.
Every year, at the end of the January exam period, we have a weekend away at a bunkhouse on the Gower. We have loads of great food, games, time in God’s presence, teaching, windy walks on the beach, and occasionally someone decides they want to get baptised in the sea. It’s always one of the highlights of our year, because God always meets us powerfully!
Final Year Farewell
At the end of the year, we like to spend some time specifically with anyone who is moving on from their time at Uni, to come alongside them and pray for their future. God has a purpose for every single one of us, and at the end of our final year, the prospect of moving on can sometimes feel rather daunting, especially if you have no idea what you’re going to do next. At this event, we spend some time reflecting on your time in Swansea, and seek God as to how He will guide your next steps.
End of Year Sleepover
This is our big end of year farewell event after the summer exam period. We turn the LifePoint Centre into our playground for a night of mad fun and games. Complete with a barbecue of epic proportions, a breakfast described as the envy of kings, and the annual mandatory game of sardines, this is THE way to end your academic year.
